Joe McEwan has had an unorthodox journey in the Spirits Industry. What started as a hobby exploring cocktail culture has turned into a niche in the world of whiskey and other fine spirits.

Joe has worked in various aspects of the adult beverage industry. As a trusted spirits consultant for Binny’s Beverage Depot, he has played a pivotal role in helping others discover the magic of well-crafted spirits. Joe has been an active member of The Whiskey Hotline, a continuing education program that takes deep dives in distillation, maturation, and critical review of spirits. He has worked for distributors in Nashville, TN, and has contributed to esteemed platforms like The Whiskey Wash as well as his own blog, havespiritswilltravel.com, which focuses on spirits with a historical and cultural impact.

Throughout this journey, Joe has developed a deep passion for the history, culture, and terroir of spirits and celebrates the people who work to craft their legacies in the industry.

Joe has lived in the Twin Cities, Nashville, and currently resides in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and daughter. When not geeking out over spirits, Joe can be found getting lost in music, traveling, or running his smoker.
